Inside Sales Representative
United Pipe and Steel Corp., founded in 1980, is a distributor of pipe to the plumbing and electrical wholesale industries. Headquartered in Ipswich, MA, we have six regional warehouses serving over 25 states. The Inside Sales Representative is an essential and valued member of the team. This position is responsible for selling products to an assigned geographical region and working with the outside sales team. This position is for our Ipswich, MA location.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and qualify leads and sales opportunities
- Prospecting and cold calling for new accounts
- Achieve annual sales targets
- Make outbound calls to targeted customers and respond to inbound inquiries
- Research and resolve complaints to ensure customer retention and satisfaction
- Process orders, prepare correspondence, and fulfill customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Must be able to build trust-based relationships with customers
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude
- Strong phone skills and able to handle 60+ calls per day
- May involve up to 5% travel.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Working knowledge of MS Office, and comfortable learning sales software
- 2+ years experience in sales or sales support
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the distribution industry a plus
- Plumbing, heating, electrical or irrigation industry experience a plus
Sales Manager
United Pipe and Steel Corp., founded in 1980, is a distributor of pipe to the plumbing and electrical wholesale industries. Headquartered in Ipswich, MA, we have six regional warehouses serving over 25 states. The Sales Manager is an essential and valued member of the leadership team, directly responsible for managing a team of 8-10 inside and outside sales representatives in a territory.
In addition to managerial experience, the ideal candidate will possess charisma, a "lead-by-example" mindset, a strong work ethic, and a passion for sales. Experience in the wholesale distribution and/or pipe industries a must.
The position is travel intensive (approximately 25%). United Pipe & Steel offers a competitive compensation program, including health, 401(k), vacation, personal/sick time, and bonus program. This position is for our Ipswich, MA location.

Truck Driver

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class "A" Truck Driver to join our team on a year-round basis in our Franklin, IN branch location. This position comes with benefits, Monday thru Friday hours, and you can be home every night. Ideal candidates will have clean driving record. Route truck experience is preferred but not required. Applicant should have the following qualifications:
- Ability to Manage Warehouse workers and Class A Drivers
- Must have trafficking experience
- Must have experience in inventory control
- General knowledge of DOT compliance laws
- Must be willing to work extended 1st shift hours (Monday-Friday)
- Good physical condition, may require heavy lifting, very fast paced
- Class A license is a plus but not required
