Inside Sales Representative
United Pipe and Steel Corp., founded in 1980, is a distributor of pipe to the plumbing and electrical wholesale industries. We have seven regional Distribution Centers serving over 40 states. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Inside Sales Representative to join our Company in our Ipswich headquarters. This position is an essential and valued member of the sales team, reporting to a Regional Sales Manager. The Inside Sales Rep will work cooperatively with outside sales and other members of operations in an assigned geographical region to grow existing customers and prospect new accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Make outbound phone calls to customers; initiate cold call for new accounts; respond to inbound inquiries; negotiate and close a sale.
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner. Process orders, prepare correspondence, and fulfill customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Adjust content of sales presentations by understanding the type of sales outlet. Analyze existing and potential volume of dealers. Achieve annual sales targets.
- Use sales management tools to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency.
- Prepare and submit activity/results reports to management. Update and maintain accounts including contact names and numbers for future sales.
- Research and resolve service/product issues to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years in an inside sales role.
- Strong phone and computer skills; able to handle 50+ outbound calls per day.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to build trust-based relationships with customers, and provide superior customer service.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, and comfortable learning sales software; experience with operating in an ERP/CRM environment.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the distribution industry a plus. Plumbing, heating, electrical or irrigation industry experience a plus.
Outside Sales Representative – New England Region
United Pipe & Steel Corp., founded in 1980, is a distributor of pipe to the plumbing and electrical wholesale industries with 7 regional warehouses serving over 40 states. We are seeking a dynamic Outside Sales Representative for the New England Region. All candidates must have significant experience selling commodity products to plumbing & heating wholesalers; possesses a strong work ethic and a charismatic personality; and be a self-starter who can work independently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts through cold calling efforts. Plan and organize daily work schedule to call on existing and potential sales opportunities.
- Adjust content of sales presentations by understanding the type of sales outlet. Analyze existing and potential volume of dealers. Achieve annual sales targets.
- Liaise between the Inside Sales Reps and customers for up-to-date pricing, service and new products.
- Use sales management tools to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency.
- Prepare and submit activity/results reports to management.
- Update and maintain accounts including contact names and numbers for future sales.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints.

Warehouse Distribution Manager
United Pipe & Steel Corp., founded in 1980, is a distributor of pipe to the plumbing and electrical wholesale industries. We have seven regional warehouses delivering to over 40 states.
We are seeking a motivated individual who has proven Warehouse Distribution experience to join our growing Company. The Warehouse Distribution Manager is an essential and valued member of the team. This individual will have responsibility for management of the Loves Park, IL warehouse, including a staff of Class A drivers and warehouse associates. Ideal candidate would be very dependable and be a part of the Operations Team for the Company.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years prior experience in managing warehouse associates and/or Class A Drivers
- Experience in trafficking and inventory control
- Knowledge of DOT compliance laws
- Must be willing to work extended 1st shift hours (Monday-Friday)
- Good physical condition, may require heavy lifting, very fast paced
- Strong communication skills with the ability to relate with senior management and sales team, and present oneself in a professional manner
- Knowledge of plumbing wholesale industry a plus
- Holding a Class A license a plus but not required
Class A Driver
Truck Driver
United Pipe and Steel Corp., founded in 1980, is a distributor of pipe to the plumbing and electrical wholesale industries. We have six regional warehouses serving over 25 states.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class "A" Truck Driver to join our team on a year-round basis in our Easton, PA branch location. This position comes with benefits, Monday thru Friday hours, and you can be home every night. Ideal candidates must have clean driving record. Route truck experience is preferred but not required. This can be a physical position, involving some heavy lifting and re-tarping the truck multiple times per day. Only apply if you enjoy working hard!
